新中国成立50周年,是中华民族的大喜事,是中国人民的盛大节日。中华民族是在八国联军侵占首都北京的屈辱下进入本世纪的。那时的中国一盘散沙、受尽欺凌,列强瓜分、国土沦丧,军阀混战、民不聊生,满目疮痍、国无宁日,人民处在水深火热之中,国家濒临灭亡的境地。是中国共产党领导人民闹革命,推翻了三座大山,建立了新中国,赢得了民族的独立和人民的解放。新中国的50年,是中国人民站起来的50年,是神州大地再创辉煌的50年,是中华民族走向伟大复兴的50年。欢庆建国50周年,要进一步振奋民族精神,激励全党、全军和全国各族人民更加紧密地团结在以江泽民同志为核心的党中央周围,同心同德,艰苦奋斗,扎实工作,开拓前进,全面完成党的十五大确定的战略目标和各项任务,把建设有中国特色社会主义事业全面推向21世纪,谱写中华民族伟大复兴的壮丽篇章。
