There are numerous articles on criticizing monks in novels of Ming and Qing dynasties. The secularization of the monks is an inducement for Buddhism to provoke criticism, and the appearance of this phenomenon is even more closely linked with the social ideological trend in the late Ming Dynasty and the situation of Buddhism itself. However, the novels in the Ming and Qing Dynasties not only involved in Buddhism, but Confucianism and Taoism joined the novel so that the novels in this period showed a mixed state in religion. At the same time as the Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism came to light, the author showed a skeptical and frivolous attitude towards the “Three Religions”. From this we can see that the “Three Religions” at this time have moved from contention to confluence.
