There has always been a great deal of interest in adaptation strategies for residents of the Himalayas, with a particular focus on the interaction of agriculture, livestock husbandry and commerce in resident activities in high-altitude mountain areas. This article is limited in space and can not be described in great detail. Instead, I only want to select a mountainous area and do my best to outline the distinctive characteristics of its residents in adapting to the environment.
