文章里的两句话令人羡慕:1/He was lucid(精神上健康的,明智的或理性的)to the very end.2/His bloodpressure fell and he left us without a murmur。
Todde, the world’s longest-lived male, recently left this planet he had lived for 112 years. He is the birthday star of The Guinness Book of World Records. The scientific community has had a keen interest in his longevity and has raised various questions. He even extracted DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) samples from 337 local longevity people. People seem to have forgotten one: Todde is still a humorous old man. Longevity must be healthy, like Todde makes sense. The two sentences in the article are enviable: 1/He was lucid (mentally healthy, sensible, or rational) to the very end.2/His bloodpressure fell and he left us without a murmur. My grandfather was 99 years old, but in the last 10 years of his life, he spent almost all his time in bed and suffered the pain. In the age of 90, he wrote an article entitled “Life is shame.” In the “Xinmin Evening News” published in Shanghai, after I read it, I changed my view on longevity.
