我矿是一座设计年生产能力240万t的现代化矿井,原勘探设计的矿井正常涌水量为894m3/h,最大涌水量为1 627m3/h,自1997年11月投产以来,通过采掘显示出的矿井地质水文条件较原设计变得异常复杂。2000年8月份由我国部分生产单位、大专院校的地质专家对我矿井水文地质类型进行了重新评价,认为矿井构造复杂、断层和原生裂隙发育,生产矿井底板岩溶突水频繁,将矿井地质类型定型为III类(复杂型)。投产至今已有2个工作面因突水被淹,1条主皮带运输大巷因突水被迫改道,最大突水点涌水量为680m3/h。
