孔子的认识中“义”是一种道德规范,和“礼”一样,是人们应该遵循的。墨子的“义”更多地体现为一种实现天下大利的途径即应该通过“义”来实现天下和谐。相比之下,儒家对义的追求,它所要达到的往往并非以功利为目的,而是道德理想和人格完善,具有超功利的内涵。然而,在墨子的学说中“义”可以被分为两大类,即“仁义”和“道义”。其实在关于“义”的理解与阐述之中,孔子与墨子既有相通之处又有各子见解。
In Confucius’ understanding, “righteousness ” is a kind of moral norm, just like “ritual ”, people should follow. Mozi’s “righteousness” is more embodied as a way of realizing the world’s good, that is, harmony of the world should be realized through “righteousness ”. In contrast, the Confucian pursuit of righteousness, it is often not to achieve the purpose of utilitarian, but the moral ideal and perfect personality, with super utilitarian content. However, in the doctrine of Mozi, “righteousness” can be divided into two categories, namely “righteousness” and “morality.” In fact, in the understanding and elaboration of “meaning ”, Confucius and Mozi both have similarities and sub-views.
