1995年,联合国第四次世界妇女大会在北京召开,推动了中国妇女事业的发展,同时也推动了中国妇女研究的迅速发展和学科化进程。为迎接联合国第四次世界妇女大会在北京召开十周年纪念,也为《中国妇女发展纲要》颁布及男女平等基本国策提出十周年纪念。《中华女子学院学报》2005年第4期特设“中国妇女的发展”暨“北京+10”专题笔谈栏目,特别邀请了五位高校学者、社会知名女性问题研究专家,主要围绕妇女教育、妇女参政、家庭婚姻、妇女研究、妇女培训等不同领域的妇女发展状况进行回顾并加以分析评述;旨在促进男女性别平等,推动中国妇女和谐发展进程以及为全面建设小康社会、建立和谐社会各抒己见,建言献策。《中华女子学院学报》组织刊出这组原创性且富有影响力的专题文章,在为新时期中国妇女发展史留下浓重一笔的同时,以期引起社会各界对性别平等主流化等热点问题的广泛关注与深入思考。
