光孤子是由光纤的群速色散与自身相位调制效果的非线性补偿产生的稳定的极短脉冲,由于长距离传输后无波形失真,因此光孤子通信技术可用于实现高速通信网.本文主要介绍光孤子通信的原理、特点、最新研究成果和采用20Gbit/s速率传输1020km以上的光孤子长距离通信系统.一、何为光孤子孤子是通过色散和非线性补偿而产生的稳定脉冲波包.其特点是孤子的波即使相互碰撞也不会改变形状,孤立波(Soli-tary Wave)是粒子动作的结果,故称其为光孤子(Soliton).
