长期以来,生产上栽培的油菜新品种多为高芥酸(芥酸含量高达40%~50%)品种,营养价值较低。故“六五”以来,低芥酸油菜新品种的选育研究,一直被列为国家重点科技攻关项目。经过二十余年的努力,我国已先后育成了43个单、双低新品种。但是,早期育成的一批优质油菜品种,由于丰产性、抗逆性等不如当时的推广品种,加之优质没能优价,生产上实际应用的较少。绵油9号系四川省绵阳市农科所育成,1998年通过四川省审定的油菜新品种,该品种集高产、优质、高油、低芥酸、抗逆性强等优点于一体,在生产上已初步展示出十分广阔的推广应用前景。
