The construction and operation of the TEKO plant, which simulates the entire extraction cycle of the Purix process with depleted uranium, provides valuable information for the design of extraction equipment for commercial reprocessing plants. In particular, for pulse columns HA and IC, their typical hydrodynamic phenomena and problems as well as equipment amplification must be addressed. Detailed tests have been carried out on the conditions of individual instruments and of the entire plant, as well as simulations of typical plant accidents. Electrolytic reoxidation, steam stripping removal of raffinate TBP, direct distillation of organic solvents, the use of mechanical pulse in the pulse column and other new technology made engineering evaluation.
