川北一个偏僻乡村的残疾青年医生,面对绵延的荒山秃岭,突发奇想植树造林。经过慎重的考虑,他向团中央等部门写信,提出植树造林、保护生态平衡,建设“绿色银行”的建议。团中央于1985年7月24日回了信,希望他能做一个植树造林保护生态平衡的带头人。这封信改变了这位残疾赤脚医生的人生。从此,他弃医造林,痴心植树20年,造林1500亩,绿化荒山3座,林业产值达300万元。他,就是四川省广元市元坝区石井乡石井村三组的农民肖开忠。
A disabled young doctor in a remote village in northern Sichuan faced unexpected hills and bald trees in the face of the rolling hills and bald mountains. He is Xiao Kai Zhong, a farmer with three groups in Shijing Village, Shijing Township, Yuanba District, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province.
