根根安庆幅MSS象片上的影象特征,结合地质、地球物理资料分析确认,皖南沿江带由两个相背伸展的中新生代楔形裂陷盆地(地堑)及一个凸于其间、在构造上遭强烈肢解和挤压变形的低山丘陵带(地垒)所组成,乃为夹在“大别”和“江南”两相对隆起地块之间的地堑沉降系。该沉降系内发育有巨厚的中新生界陆相沉积,深部地幔明显隆起,地堑盆地中还出现喜山期超基性岩墙群。据此,笔者认为本区属从晚侏罗世就开始形成,至今仍在发展的陆内裂谷带——皖南长江裂谷带。
According to the geologic and geophysical data analysis, we can confirm that the Mesozoic-Cenozoic wedge-shaped rift basin (graben) stretches in opposite directions along the Yangtze River in southern Anhui province and one is convex in the meantime. Composed of hilly belts (horst) that have been strongly dismembered and crushed. It is a graben subsidence system sandwiched between two uplifted blocks of “Dabie” and “Jiangnan”. In the sedimentation system there is a huge Meso-Cenozoic continental facies sedimentation, deep mantle obviously uplift, Himalayan ultramafic rock wall group also appears in the graben basin. Accordingly, I believe that the area began to form from the Late Jurassic, is still developing the intracontinental rift zone - the southern Yangtze Rift Valley.
