大青山山前断裂是呼包断陷盆地的主要控制断裂,西起包头市昭君坟,沿大青山山前向东延伸至呼和浩特以东的奎素一带,总体呈NEE走向,主断面向盆地倾斜,具有典型的正断层活动特点(图1)。自第三纪渐新世以来,断裂活动以北升南降的垂直差异运动为主,大青山峰顶与盆地面的高差最大达1300m。断裂北侧的大青山间歇性掀斜抬升遭受剥蚀,而呼包盆地长期沉降接受巨厚的沉积,新生界最大厚度达7600m(鄂尔多斯课题组,1988)。
The Daqingshan piedmont fault is the main controlled fault in the Huafu rift basin. From Zhaojun tomb in Baotou City in the west, it stretches eastward along the Daqingshan Piedmont to the Kuisu area to the east of Hohhot. It is generally NEE-trending and the main fault is basin- , With typical features of normal faults (Figure 1). Since the Oligocene, the vertical movement of faults in the north and the south of the fault has dominated. The maximum difference between the peak of Daqingshan and the basin surface is up to 1300m. Daqingshan on the north side of the fault intermittently tilted uplift and suffered erosions, while the long-term settlement of the Hu-Bao basin underwent massive deposition with a maximum thickness of 7600 m in the Cenozoic (Erdos Task Force, 1988).
