Phorbol myristate acetate (PMA) is a potent cancer promoter. We explored its effects on interleukin 2 (IL2) receptor (IL2R) and DNA synthesis in T cells in an attempt to elucidate the more direct and essential cause of the role of cancer promoters. BALB/c mouse thymus (Ty) or spleen (Sc) cells were filtered twice on a nylon velvet column and treated with PMA to obtain Typma and Scpma cells. The adsorption of IL2 by cells was measured to observe the cell surface.
