“生产转向”是当代西方马克思主义美学在文化批判理论研究中展现出的新的理论发展动向。在布尔迪厄的审美趣味与文化区隔研究、朗西埃的“感知的再分配”理论和当代审美资本主义研究中,当代西方马克思主义美学在生产维度上进一步拓展了理论空间,着重探讨艺术生产、文化资本、审美趣味与当代西方资本主义的关系,对当代美学问题域的变革起到了重要的推动作用。在审美资本主义时代,当代美学研究应进一步关注文化与资本、体验与经济、美学与时代的关系及其呈现出的理论问题。审美资本主义的理论内涵及其发展与当代社会文化转型过程密切相关,二者交汇融合也促使当代美学进一步关注当代体验,这是当代美学走向新的理论发展不可回避的问题。
