最具代表性的纺织老工业基地是指建国初期国家兴建的“六大纺织基地”。新中国第一个五年计划的第一年,中央人民政府确定在京广线沿线及以西靠近产棉区的北京、郑州、石家庄、西安4个地方同时发展纺织工业,加上陕西咸阳、河北邯郸两地,便有了“全国六大纺织基地”之说。除了这六大纺织基地外,我国还有赫赫有名的“上青天”——上海、青岛、天津三大纺织基地,这三座城市都曾经在我国现代纺织工业发展史上留下了浓墨重彩的一笔。
