Edgar Allan Poe is known as a Wizards in American literature. For the short story, Slope made no contribution at that time. He was the first to take a short story as a literary genre and innovate it. His novels inherit the tradition of Gothic novels, most of which are related to death, mystery and terror. On this basis, Po will internalize the gothic horror into the inner world and gradually form a unique psychoanalytic novel with psychological fear as the theme.
