【Objective】 To investigate the relationship between the levels of IgE, IgA, IgG, IgM, C3, C4, peripheral blood eosinophils and interior decoration in children with asthma and the relationship between indoor formaldehyde, benzene and ammonia concentration and childhood asthma. 【Methods】 Thirty children with asthma were retrospectively analyzed retrospectively. 30 cases of non-house decoration in control group were enrolled in this study. Blood samples were collected to detect IgE, IgAIgG, IgM, C3, C4 peripheral blood eosinophils. In interior decoration (less than 5 years), 61 cases of asthmatic children and 61 cases of non-asthmatic children in the control group were measured. The concentration of formaldehyde, benzene and ammonia were measured in the control group. [Results] The IgE, IgA and peripheral blood eosinophils of 30 asthmatic children in the decoration group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). IgG, IgM, C3, C4, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). The levels of formaldehyde, benzene and ammonia in children with asthma were significantly different from those in the control group (P <0.05). Nonparametric Correlation Analysis Formaldehyde, benzene and ammonia were positively correlated with childhood asthma. 【Conclusion】 The indoor decoration caused indoor air failure can induce asthma in children and aggravate asthma. Formaldehyde, benzene and ammonia, the major pollutants in decorative materials, are more harmful to the health of children with asthma. The investigations and studies in this area should be strengthened to speed up the formulation of legislation and standards for decorative materials.
