中国是古代火箭的发祥地火箭是靠自携燃料燃烧后喷射的高速气流的反作用力推进的飞行器。我国早在宋朝就已制造了火箭,并用于战争。到了明朝,火箭的品种增多,出现了飞刀箭、飞枪箭、飞剑箭和燕尾箭以及“震天雷炮”、“神火飞鸦”等与现代火箭弹工作原理相似的火箭;制造了多箭捆绑并发的“百矢孤箭”、“一窝蜂”火箭;使用的“火龙出水”是历史上最早的二级火箭雏型。在这个时期,火箭获得了广泛使用。
