爱国主义教育是德育教育的核心和基础。鸦片战争博物馆作为全国爱国主义教育示范基地,为发挥虎门销烟与鸦片战争古遗址这一优质资源的爱国主义教育作用,该馆坚持“以人为本”的服务宗旨,充分发挥自身优势,不断丰富和创新教育形式,采取“请进来”与“走出去”两种方式,积极构建爱国主义教育新平台,在弘扬、培育民族精神、爱国主义思想等方面取得了良好成效。
