张明同志认为，薛涛的《西岩》诗证明李白确实到过万县并登过西岩。他的说法是有根据的．“骑鲸客”指李白，在杜甫、贯休等人的作品中都有反映。诗题“西岩”当指万县之西岩，亦即今之万县太白岩。因为简阳、资中等地的西岩李白都未曾游览过。从《西岩》诗中的“如雨声中停去马，夕阳影星乱鸣蜩”看，《西岩》诗还可能与《九日遇雨二首》是同一天作的。
Comrade Zhang Ming believed that Xue Tao’s “Xiyan” poetry proves that Li Bai really went over Wanxian County and boarded the west rock. His argument is valid. “Riding a whale off” refers to Li Bai, in Du Fu, Guanghuai, who have reflected in the works. The poem “West Rock” when referring to the West County of Wanxian, which is now Wanxian Taibaiyan. Because of Jianyang, capital and other Xiyang Li Bai have never visited before. Judging from the “stopping the horse in the rain, the chaos of the sunset movie star” in the poem “Xiyan”, the poem “Xiyan” may also be made on the same day as the “Second Rain on the 9th”.
