高校学报的社会性是针对其内向性现状提出的理论命题。我国大学学报的诞生契机，尤其是蔡元培的理论主张，历史证明学报的本质属性是社会出版物。克服种种妨碍实现学报进入社会的思想束缚，澄清学报的社会性与社会化期刊在社会主义市场经济条件下生存发展的不同性质，是高校学报改善生态环境健康发展的当务之急。高校学报的社会性应为：理论研究具有社会普遍指导意义，学术水准反映高等学府人才优势处于学科研究的前沿地位，最大限度地发挥刊物在社会主义物质文明和精神文明建设中的推动作用。从社会传播学来说，高校学报的学术信息原和受众层，都应是打破内向循环的社会开放。
The sociality of university journals is the theoretical proposition put forward for its introverted status quo. The birth opportunity of China’s university journals, especially Cai Yuanpei’s theory and claim, history has proved that the essential attribute of journals is social publications. Overcoming all the constraints that hinder the realization of the journals’ entry into the society and clarifying the different nature of journal social and social journals in their survival and development under the conditions of socialist market economy are the most urgent tasks for university journals in improving the healthy development of ecological environment. The sociality of university journals should be as follows: the research on the theory has the universal guiding significance for the society; the academic standard reflects that the superiority of the talented personnel in higher education institutions is at the forefront of the discipline research and the promotion of the publications in the construction of socialist material civilization and spiritual civilization to the maximum extent. From the perspective of social communication, both the original academic information and the audience layer of university journals should be social openness that breaks the introverted cycle.
