Objective: To investigate the correlation between uric acid (UA) level, uric acid / creatinine ratio (UA / Cr) and Parkinson’s disease (PD) Methods: Totally 77 PD patients hospitalized in our hospital from 2014 to 2015 were selected as the experimental group and 77 healthy, age-matched healthy subjects as control group. The differences of UA and UA / Cr levels between the two groups were compared. The experimental group was divided into two groups according to the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), including 26 cases of tremor dominant (TD), 18 cases of postural instability gait difficulty (PIGD) 51 cases, the difference of UA and UA / Cr levels between the two groups was compared. Results: The levels of UA and UA / Cr in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.000 1). The levels of UA and UA / Cr in the PIGD group were significantly lower than those in the TD group. Conclusion: UA and UA / Cr are the risk factors of PD, and also can be used as biological indicators to differentiate motor types.
