新甜17号是石河子农科中心甜菜研究所育成的丰产、优质、抗病、单粒雄性不育杂交种。2006年2月通过新疆农作物品种审定委员会审定并命名。1特征特性该品种属标准偏丰产的中晚熟型遗传单粒杂交种,全生育期170d左右。抗(耐)褐斑病、根腐病性强。叶丛直立,适宜合理密植。植高60cm,绿叶数35～40片,叶片犁铧型,叶绿色;肥大块根为圆锥型,根皮白色,根冠小,根沟浅,根体光滑,易切削。该品种2年生母根种株属混合型,株型整齐,花期一致;母本雄性不育率和单粒率达95%以上,结实部位和结实密度适中,结实率高,种子千粒重11～14g。
