As an expert on Jewish studies in China,Zhang Qianhong has published several books conceming Judaism,Jewish culture,Jewish thought and Israeli economy.The present,on the general history of Israel,is a revised edition based on the first one which was brought out in 2008.It consists of nine chapters,with some appendices.Unlike some English works on the history of Israel,the author starts her narrative from the biblical time and sets the first two chapters for a description of the historical evolution of the Jewish people between 2000 B.C.and the end of the 19th century.
