In 1983, when Professor Kentaro Suwon of Japan Rikkyo University (specializing in modern Japanese history) traveled to the United States to conduct a survey tour, he found an approximately 70-page pamphlet titled “The Case Study of Chemical Warfare in Chinas Incident” at the National Archives of Washington, (Hereinafter referred to as “illustration set”). This is a top secret document compiled by the Japanese army Nyingchi School in 1942. This “Illustrated Set” chronicles 56 unique examples of Japanese chemical warfare conducted by the Japanese aggressors on the battlefield in China with a battle plot and briefs on the types and methods of using poison gas, their results and lessons learned.
