本文主要以日本平安中后期社会语境为视角,通过贵族话语中常见的“本朝”、“国风”、“异邦”等关键词,分析日本平安贵族群体心理、平安贵族心境的变化,进而研究古代日本集体意识和共识对其民族意识、国粹观念的形成乃至膨胀产生影响的过程。平安日本贵族的话语透露出:日本是通过与他者——中国——相比照重新认知自我,从而关注自己的国家地位。贵族们通过熟练掌握和运用汉字这一文化符号而树立自信,并通过创造日本化的“假名”复兴民族文化;他们以力求超越中国来超越自我,通过文化竞争创造了日本民族的经典,提升了日本文化的软实力,最后因本土意识、主权意识、威望意识的培养而炼造出强烈的日本民族意识。
