This disturbing work by John Curry not only details how the CIA worked closely with Islamic radicals in the planning and conduct of the holy war, but also gave a detailed account of how Britain connived at such coalition. The coalition, which began as a temporary feverish fever and developed into a serious incident, ended in tears: Afghanistan was in ruins and the veterans of Afghanistan spread the war to a range of countries, from Egypt and Algeria to Russia and China.
