According to the Pharmacy Post Survey of Pharmacy Owners & Managers, the average annual growth rate of the Canadian herbal medicine market from 1996 to 2000 was 20%. The fastest-growing Atlantic province is 39%, followed by Prairie province 20%, Ontario growth rate 17%, and BC province growth rate 12%. Plant drug sales account for 5% of pharmacy sales on average.
