The mean distribution of heavy minerals in the Taiwan Strait was 0.95%, with its distribution decreasing from the west coast to the east coast. From the north to Taiwan, it gradually declined towards the east. 46 kinds of detrital minerals, mainly amphibole, epidote, magnetite, ilmenite, limonite and flake minerals, which account for 67% of the heavy mineral content. The strait is divided into eight mineral assemblages based on major heavy mineral contents. Debris minerals come from the bedrock of both sides of the Taiwan Strait and are transported into the sea by rivers. Some of the flake minerals are deposited along the Zhejiang-Fujian coastal flow into the Strait along the north of the Strait. Its glauconite is Taiwan’s West Bank, Penghu Island Tertiary or quaternary line with the sea greenstone rock denudation moved into the sea after deposition. Residual deposits from the Taiwan Shoal are estuarine coastal sediments during the Late Pleistocene low sea level. Due to its open ocean environment, so far no modern sediments have been accepted. Residues in the sediments of magnetite, ilmenite, zircon and other heavy minerals are relatively rich, higher than the waters near the source, there may be shallow sea sand deposits.
