宜兴,这座江南小城因紫砂而兴,更是因紫砂壶闻名天下,甚至每天都在出现天价壶王。随着紫砂壶价格不断升高,紫砂原料逐渐减少,限制了产业的发展。就在此时,辽宁喀左高调宣布,探明10亿吨以上可媲美宜兴紫砂原料的紫砂矿。来自宜兴的南方紫砂艺人,开始纷纷北上喀左创业。喀左凭借丰富而优质的紫砂资源,斥巨资建设紫砂艺术产业园,吸引南方紫砂企业和艺术大师入驻,促进紫砂艺术中心向辽西转移,中国北部新兴的紫砂之都逐渐形成气候。
