Taking CS2 workers aged over 10 years and under 45 years as spinning groups in a chemical fiber plant as the contact group, the same age and working-age range was selected for the same factory in the cotton pulp plant. CS2 was contacted but CS2 has now been stopped Thirty-three workers who had come into contact with more than 5 years as the intervention group and 23 workers who had never been exposed to CS2 served as the control group, conducted epidemiological cross-sectional survey to understand the effects of CS2 on workers’ serum copper and zinc. The results showed that the content of SCu and SZn in the exposure group was lower than that in the control group (P = 0.0001). The multivariate stepwise regression analysis controlled some confounding factors and further showed that the content of SCu and SZn had a certain relationship with CS2 exposure The correlation coefficients were -02374 and -02536 respectively), and CS2 all contributed negatively to the SCu and CSn contents (the partial regression coefficients β were -10.4173 and -8.4175, respectively). These results suggest that CS2 exposure at low concentration may be an independent risk factor for SCu and SZn reduction. The SCu and CZn concentrations in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). It suggests that the changes of SCn and Ssn content caused by low concentration CS2 exposure may be irreversible.
