Beginning with Rachel Carson, the contemporary American ecological literature focuses on describing the natural ecological environment, revealing ecological issues, disseminating ecological ideas and promoting the environmental protection movement. As an important branch of contemporary literature, ecological literature has its own uniqueness in its narrative mode. As a pioneer of contemporary ecological literature, Carson fully demonstrated the basic narrative mode of ecological literature with his works. This model shows the inheritance, innovation and development of American traditional literature in narrative objects (themes), ideological structure (visual threshold) and artistic techniques (skills).
