In August 1991, E.coli O 157: H7 infection was erupted in southeastern Massachusetts due to drinking apple juice. Eighteen patients were found on January 10, 1992, and five were later found, and 22 patients were confirmed to carry E.coli O 157: H7. Of the 18 patients initially discovered, 96% had diarrhea, 87% abdominal pain, 70% bloody diarrhea, 35% vomiting, and 17% fever. Four children develop hemolytic uremic syndrome
