The phenomenon of the same name of ethnic minorities is extremely common. Minority nationalities in the Ming Dynasty, which include more Han names, seem to be able to avoid duplication of names. However, the phenomenon of the same name of Han names also exists, causing some distress to the study. Among them, the Hui people in the Ming Dynasty and the Mongols all had Chang family names and even had a common Chinese name. Based on the comparison of the evolution of the two Chang family, this article explores the historical activities of ethnic minorities in the Ming Dynasty and analyzes their commonness and individuality. It points out that the results of different nationalities in the development of the Mainland are also obviously different. In other words, the key factors that affect the development of ethnic minorities in the Mainland are their own characteristics.
