雷电是一种大气放电现象,雷击则是发生在云地(含近地层)之间的雷电。雷击不仅能危害人的生命,也极容易引发火灾。绝大多数雷击灾难,都能科学地寻觅到缘由,但也有一些罕见的雷击现象,很难找到发生的根源。据报载,1962年9月,美国衣阿华州遭到一场雷雨袭击,在某一家庭,餐桌并没有被雷击毁,但桌上垂直叠放的12个菜碟,却间隔均匀地被雷击碎6个。为什么会出现这样的现象,至今还无人做出令人信服的科学解释。
