近日,笔者的一位朋友向我:谈到这样一件事:说是他把家里的数万元家庭财产保险单向银行出示,要求办理质押贷款手续,不料却被拒绝,理由是该保单不能质押。朋友问银行这种做法对吗?为什么? 其实,笔者朋友碰到的这件事在个人消费信贷普遍开展的今天很有代表性,于是,就此事笔者走访了有关部门和专业人士。据银行部门介绍,现在消费者尤其是个体业主购买保险的越来越多,急用钱时有人便想以保单质押向银行贷款。银行部门有关贷款条例中虽然表明可以质押贷款,保险公司也推出了一些保单可质押的险种,但保单质押是有条件的,首先必须弄清楚贷款人所持的质押(凭证)保单是财产保险单还是人寿保险单。
