品种来源山西农科院五寨试验站用胜利2号作母本,燕子作父本杂交选育而成。1991年经山西省农作物品种审定委员会审定,定名为晋薯9号。特征特性中晚熟种。株型直立,株高70厘米左右,叶色黄绿,花白色,天然结实性强。结薯集中,薯形扁椭圆,黄皮淡黄肉。薯皮光滑,芽眼浅。单株结薯6个左右,薯块大而整齐。品质较好,食味佳,每百克鲜薯含维生素C 23.7毫克,淀粉含量为14.7~16.9%,是菜和蒸食兼用类型。该品种较抗旱、抗退化,田间轻度发生晚疫病、黑胫病和疮痂病。
