新型结构天然β内酰胺抗生素的发现回顾总结五十年来β-内酰胺抗生素的研究,正如图所示,1929年从天然发现青霉素以来,1955年、1971年又先后发现了头孢菌素和头霉素。化学家们由此而研制了大量高效的β-内酰胺抗生素药物。然而,近年来还发现了一大类与原先的天然β-内酰胺抗生素具有不同骨架结构的新抗生素,即非经典β-内酰胺。这类抗生素的涌现其数量之多使人应接不暇。这一卓越的贡献应归功于先进的发酵技术和筛选方法。诺卡杀菌素A(1)是最早发现的单环β-内酰胺抗生素;陆续又发现了棒酸(2)和以疏霉素(3a)、橄榄酸(3b)为代表的碳杂青霉烯
