《百家讲坛》的热播,给我们提出了一个问题:如何在学术与大众间架起一座桥梁,满足人民群众的精神文化需求。学术研究虽然有其独立性,但时代的需要、社会的发展,都要求学术走出“象牙塔”、走向大众,这是学术本质上实践性的复归,也是社会科学的本质要求。当然,学术走向大众,不可能也没必要将一切学术大众化。由于自身的特点和传播方式的局限,学术与社会大众有一定的距离,而电视、网络等现代传媒工具为学术走向大众提供了广阔的空间与土壤。那种认为学术走向大众就是学术的“庸俗化、简单化”的观点,实质是“精英文化”居高临下的自我陶醉和自我封闭。
The popularity of “Lecture Room” raises a question for us: how to set up a bridge between academic and public so as to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the masses. Although its academic research has its own independence, the needs of the times and the development of society all require that academics get out of the “ivory tower” and reach the general public. This is an essential return of practice to the nature of science and an essential requirement of social science. Of course, it is neither possible nor necessary to popularize all the academics toward the public. Due to its own characteristics and limitations of modes of communication, there is a certain distance between academics and the general public. Modern media tools such as television and the internet have provided a vast space and soil for academics to reach the general public. The view that academic goes to the public is academic “vulgarization, simplification” point of view, in essence, “elite culture” condescending self intoxicated and self-enclosed.
