乌鲁木齐市儿童福利院座落于乌昌路10号小地窝堡,是首府惟一一所专门收养孤残儿童的政府承办社会福利机构,主要为孤残儿童提供生活照料、医疗护理、康复训练、特殊教育等服务。目前共收养维、回、哈、汉、满、俄6个民族的孤残儿童300多名,其中残疾儿童占86％。多年来,在党和政府及社会各界的关心支持下,全院干部职工团结奋进, 争创一流,先后荣获了“自治区一级福利院”、“自治区文明单位”、“自治区行风建设示范窗口单位”、“自治区残疾人康复工作先进集体”、“自治区民族团结进步模范单位”等荣誉称号,2003年又被国务院残疾人工作协调委员会授予“残疾人之家”殊荣。
Urumqi Children’s Welfare Institute is located at No.10 Wuchang Road, Xiaodiowu. It is the only government-run social welfare agency in the capital that specializes in orphans and disable children. It mainly provides life care, medical care and rehabilitation training for orphans and disabled children , Special education and other services. A total of more than 300 orphans and disabled children from 6 ethnic groups in China, Hui, Ha, Han, Manchu and Russia have been adopted so far, of whom 86% are disabled children. Over the years, with the care and support of the party, the government and all sectors of society, all cadres and workers of the hospital have been making concerted efforts and striving for the best. They have successively won the honorary titles of “First-level Welfare Institutions in Autonomous Regions,” “Civilized Units in Autonomous Regions,” “ Unit ”,“ Advanced Collective of People with Disabilities Rehabilitation in Autonomous Region ”and“ Model Unit of National Unity and Improvement of Autonomous Region ”. In 2003, it was awarded the title of“ Home for the Handicapped ”by the Coordination Committee for Disabled Persons under the State Council.
