The two novelties, “Virgin Suicide” and “Amphiprion” by American novelist Eugenius, show a certain continuity of creation and are subtlely interlinked with short “vivid memories”. The fiction narrator (s) is also the protagonist at the same time. The fragmentation and uncertainty of the “memory” of the fiction are in stark contrast to the title “vivid memory”. In a certain sense, Eugenius’ novels are about the creation of memory: “virgin suicide” is a nostalgic memory of the lost years, “both sexes” is the protagonist’s memory of identity and family, “vivid memory” is about the real life Memory These seemingly realistic memories, in fact, filled with scattered debris and fuzzy sense, against the true reality of modern people and illusory state of existence.
