虚概念是相对于实概念而言的。所谓虚概念就是指在现实世界里没有其所规定的对象的概念,反之,则为实概念。 虚概念有无外延的问题,是逻辑界长期争论的问题之一。目前,仍无一致的看法,大致有两种意见:认为有外延或认为没有外延。 持虚概念无外延观点的人们谈论此问题总是以现实世界中能否找到这个概念所规定的对象为标准。他们对虚概念外延的认识始终过于狭隘,一直没有跳出现实世界这个圈子。现实世界中有无这个概念所规定的对象是属于哲学性质的问题。我们应该在逻辑范围内研究这个问题。
