Faced with the WTO, some experts believe that China’s industrial sector can be divided into three categories. One is an industry that is already competitive and will still maintain its original advantages, such as the color TV industry; the other is a solid foundation. There are still industries that hope to participate in international competition, such as the textile industry; there are also industries that are vulnerable, such as the automotive industry. As a result, the auto industry has become the “focus” of the people of the new millennium. In the face of the WTO, the people secretly ponder: foreign goods into China, domestic goods will cut prices, buy cars and so on. In the face of the WTO, manufacturers have their own plans: There is still a time course for joining the WTO, and prices will not be easily reduced during the protection period. As a result, the auto market has become the “freezing point” of the domestic market for the new millennium.
