陆俨少(1909—1993)是我国当代杰出的山水画家,在画坛上有“北李南陆” (北李指李可染)之称。名同祖,又名砥,字俨少,以字行,改字宛若,上海嘉定人,画室名“就新居”。陆俨少自小喜爱绘画,一九二七年考入无锡美术专科学校,期间,经王同愈先生介绍,从海上名家冯超然为师,为嵩山草堂入室弟子。后结识吴湖帆,得机会观大量历代名家佳作,眼界大开。三十年代,吴湖帆的山水画已享誉大江南北。陆俨少认为,吴画“笔不如墨。墨不如色,如果也走他这条路,研求设色,虽然吴的技法可以学到,然春一种中婉约的词境,风韵嫣然的娴静美,终不能及。”陆自度赋刚直,不宜走婉约之路,毅然自辟蹊径,开拓己路,不羡同能,但求独诣。抗日战争爆发后,举家入蜀,辗转于重庆、成都、宜宾、峨眉等地,并多次举办画展。一九四六年,全家乘木伐顺江而下,历时一个多月,饱览了三峡一带险山急流和奇
