在生命科学体系的研究中 ,实验动物学作为一门独立学科 ,具有独立的基本概念、基本内容及自身的理论体系 ,尤其是近几年来 ,医学实验动物学这一新兴学科的发展 ,转基因动物技术的问世 ,给这一领域开辟了广阔的应用前景 ,医学实验动物学是生命基础研究和生物高新技术研究、开发、应用的重要支撑条件 ,并在医学实验教学中具有重要的位置。为此 ,实验动物科技事业将从科学研究的支撑条件逐渐上升为前沿学科。必须转变旧的传统观念 ,改革旧的实验教学、科研模式 ,创建新型的医学实验动物学教学、科研新体系 ,为培养合格人才打下坚实的基础。
