中国书店24小时店已经开业数月。该店位于北京老皇城北部的地安门西侧复建的燕翅楼内,乃是继三联书店24小时店之后的北京第二家昼夜营业的书店。地安门燕翅楼始建于明朝永乐年间(1420),位于皇城北门地安门两侧,是北京皇城北侧的城防戍卫建筑。因其造型别致,宛若大雁展翅,故名燕翅楼。北京紫禁城午门两侧的高台建筑,与此相仿,所以也称燕翅楼。清代时,地安门燕翅楼为内务府满、蒙、汉上三旗公署。1954年,因北京城市建设需要,地安门城门和燕翅楼被拆除。
