In this paper, the differences of macroscopic physical properties and microstructure between dark porcelain and normal porcelain are systematically studied by several test methods and analytical methods. The results show that the dielectric loss of the dark spot porcelain increases by nearly two orders of magnitude compared with the normal porcelain and the flexural strength decreases by about 10%. In the dark porcelain, there are suballoyed feldspar and calcareous feldspar, while in normal porcelain, The content of the two sub-crystalline phases is significantly reduced or essentially undetected. The occurrence of dark spots in 95% alumina porcelain is related to the occurrence of secondary crystal phase feldspar and calcium-aluminum-yellow feldspar in porcelain. In particular, the presence of anorthite will greatly increase the dielectric loss of the porcelain body. Therefore, Porcelain pieces should not be put into normal use.
