Methicillin (methicillin) is the first semi-synthetic penicillin, the original determination of the methods are more complicated. The authors established a rapid fluorimetric assay for the determination of methicillin based on the inclusion of an excited fluorescence group at position 6 in the methicillin structure. With pH6.20 buffer, measurable concentration of 0.03 ~ 10.0yg · mL methicillin; test and determination limits were 0.018
