A theoretical design of a coupled waveguide QWL with a vertically integrated passive waveguide is reported, which can effectively reduce the divergence angle of the far-field beam in the direction perpendicular to the plane. Through numerical calculation and analysis, the influence of structural parameters on far field and threshold current density has been studied in detail. The results show that only a small increase in the threshold current density, you can make the far-field beam to be greatly improved.
